Starting in October 2024, tenant settings for this feature will also be deprecated. Users with older versions of Power BI Desktop and the public preview switch enabled will see the feature disabled.
Client applications such as Excel and Power BI Desktop now enjoy improved performance when connecting to the Power BI semantic model. This is due to the automatic conversion of old connection denmark telegram data strings (for example, pbiazure://*) to XMLA endpoints. This change allows requests to be routed directly through the XMLA endpoint, eliminating intermediate steps, speeding up processing, and reducing the potential for errors.
You may need to update your firewall rules. To ensure optimal performance when connecting to the Power BI semantic model, be sure to use the latest Analysis Services client libraries.
