We continue to learn about the beginnings and daily life of our team members. In this article, Maximiliano Menti tells us about his experiences at Data IQ.
1. What was your experience like before joining the Data IQ team?
I started my career doing things on my own, linked to .Net development and after working for several years on that, I started to have people in charge and to get interested in data. Then a former Data guy referred me and I got the job!
How was your first day at Data IQ?
I remember that there was a very friendly atmosphere and everyone was laughing. The first day I read some QlikView manuals.
2. Can you give a brief overview of your experience working at Data IQ so far?
I think it was a wonderful experience. I grew a lot professionally and I feel like I worked with great professionals. I understood what is right and what is wrong if you want to progress. Throughout these years I felt listened to and recognized, which I value very much. I also feel that in these years I managed to help many colleagues grow as well, which makes me very happy.
3. What does a “BI SR/PM Consultant” do at Data IQ?
I think it is a position that requires leadership, but the most important senegal phone number lead thing is to ensure that the wheels always turn. That is, that SSR and JR consultants always have something to do. This implies having constant communication with the client and then being able to support the team, both technically and at a management level, so that the requirements are met in a timely manner.
4. What challenges do you face in this role?
I think the challenges of the role involve having good time management in order to coordinate the efforts of the entire team, and it is important to learn to delegate (something that is not so easy sometimes). Something quite rewarding is seeing how people on your team take advantage of opportunities, grow and shine on their own. I think achieving the latter is a constant but very satisfying challenge.
5. What made Data IQ the right place for you?
The work environment and the diversity of projects. Also, I think it's a place where if you make an effort, it's taken into account and valued.
6. How was your process from when you joined to the position you have today?
Wow… it’s been several years, but the truth is that it was a more than pleasant experience and a constant learning process. I started from the bottom without even knowing how to spell Qlik and in the first year I had the opportunity to be in projects with several clients (Edenor, Pampa Energía, Telecom, etc.) which gave me experience in different types of projects. Then I went to PAE where I was able to take over the logistics team with a more management role. And then I moved on to the Software Factory, already looking to have a team: there I was performing team management, induction and client management tasks.
7. You were involved in one of the first projects we did outside Argentina. Can you tell us something about that experience? What challenges did you face? Were the training courses offered by GDT useful?
Regarding the project with Israel, I found it to be an exciting challenge. On the one hand, the issue of handling everything in English and also interacting with users who perhaps have other ways of working is important. I liked realizing that the quality of work we have at DataIQ is very good at an international level as well. Although I already spoke English, knowing this language helped me to be able to take on this project.
