How to recognize them

Post by maksudasm »

Such people are contraindicated in any team. For them, not to harm means to live a day in vain. To insult, to "accidentally" blurt out, to complain about colleagues - for such toxic employees this is a normal Tuesday. They are quite dangerous, since they can spoil the psychological climate of any healthy team.

A boor and a rude person

How to recognize them?

They are always dissatisfied with someone; complaints from such employees come in a rather aggressive form.

They are quite shameless advantages of using our skype database and can be rude to anyone without thinking.

They like to issue ultimatums, write complaints, and threaten “higher” authorities.

How to work with such people?

If the team works harmoniously, everyone respects each other, such toxic employees may not appear at all. If such an employee appears, it is important to take action quickly. However, increasing the number of responsibilities or promotion will not help here.

Find out what the employee's problem is. Maybe this aggression has its own reasons, and by eliminating them, you will return the employee to the team.

If the employee himself is the source of this rudeness, have a personal conversation with him.

If no measures help, and colleagues continue to complain about his behavior, it is better to part with such an employee.

By the way, it is precisely such employees who can write unpleasant reviews about the companies where they worked, and even speak inappropriately about the company's management. It is not worth paying attention. Perhaps you should call your fellow managers so that they do not accidentally hire him.

Martyr
Such an employee, as he himself believes, works harder than anyone else. He gets the most difficult tasks, the management does not like him and underestimates him. The toxicity of martyrs is that they irritate other employees with their whining and endless stream of complaints about their fate. The danger is that they can convince their colleagues of injustice, undermining their faith in the bright future of the company and the competence of the manager.

It is worth noting, by the way, that such employees can be very thoughtful and diligent.

How to recognize such employees?

They react poorly to criticism and perceive everything as a personal reproach.

They think that no one likes them, and their boss is trying to “purge” them from the team.

They demand special treatment, want to be the center of attention, to be pitied.

How to work with such people?

Include such an employee in one of the teams and assign a common task, let him learn to work together. When you praise for the result, evaluate the team, and not the personal contribution of each.

Such employees may have problems with organizing their working time and prioritizing tasks. Teach them time management or provide an assistant.

If the company has a tradition of holding corporate events, the “martyr” should attend them in order to personally see the positive attitude of his colleagues.

You shouldn't focus on his failures; it's better to criticize from the position of "what can be changed to make it even better."

It often happens that such people may have psychological problems and difficulties in communicating with people in general.
