Chupa Chups

Interesting fact: the author of the logo for this product was Salvador Dali himself. And do you know what made this candy so popular on the market? The stick! Most parents didn’t want to buy sweets that made their child’s hands sticky, after which they immediately wiped them on themselves. The stick easily corrected this shortcoming, and the candies are still very popular.

RED BULL

It was here that the key to advertising database success was an unconventional solution. Once on the market, the drink found itself surrounded by strong competitors, including such well-known brands as Pepsi and Coca-Cola. One of its creators, Dietrich Mateschitz, acted in a very original way. He doubled the price and made the can smaller, so that it looked like a battery.

He also came up with the idea of selling RED BULL in unusual places, such as confectionery or alcohol outlets, where they are found even today.

James accompanied the apples with a letter, explaining that the spots were a result of temperature changes, as the fruit was grown in the mountains and therefore, although it seemed spoiled, it had a unique taste. The letter also noted that the goods could be returned. No need to even comment: not only did all the apples arrive at their destination, but the company also began to receive orders for the same fruits with marks.

Dewar's

Another unusual method was used by Thomas Dewar when he was distributing whiskey in England. The English, not accustomed to the new, were skeptical about Dewar's, remaining committed to traditional drinks. Then Thomas paid random people to order his product in all pubs and, without waiting, leave the establishment with a dissatisfied look. And after some time, he personally visited the pub and arranged for delivery.

Of course, such examples can be useful for today's marketers and managers. This is an opportunity not only to express delight, but also to prepare their own unusual proposals.

Developing a sales growth strategy and implementing it in practice takes a lot of time. The entire process can take several months. The main thing is that all key participants seeking to increase sales volumes have a fair assessment of the required costs and expected results. If the work is coordinated and carried out according to plan
