We already know from our previous posts that people buy with their eyes, and a well-designed business card is exactly the element that our potential customers should be able to focus on.
Example situation. We run an interior design company.
Mr. Andrzej - our potential client - is currently arranging his new office, he has already been to several meetings with various interior design companies. He liked 3 candidates the most and is wondering which company to finally choose for the order. On Sunday evening, he sits down in an armchair with a strong resolution "today I have to decide on one of these companies" and begins the analysis. He checks all the information he has about them, websites, leaflets and business cards. It turns out that he has no contact details for company A, because he did not receive any business card from it, all he has to do is find the contact number on the website - just like anyone can do (there is a minus, because Mr. Andrzej was not treated individually in any way, he has to use mass solutions). Mr. Andrzej has a business card from company B, although it turns out that it is designed in a very unattractive way, it is saturated with content, the colors are chosen carelessly - in a word, it evokes negative associations. "When designing my office, I want it to be done with class and style. I can't afford for someone without a sense of aesthetics to take care of my project," thought Mr. Andrzej. So he was left with the last business card - our company's. It is designed clearly and elegantly, it contains all the necessary information and contact details, our company's logo is embossed on it - in short, it is clear that it is buttoned up to the last detail. Mr. Andrzej decides to choose our company because its business card aroused the greatest interest and trust in him.
What is important - a business card is very important, although we should remember that the emotions we leave in our potential clients are influenced by all the experiences they have with us. The entire visual identification system , the way we talk to the client, all the points of contact are important.
A business card is the element of the visual identification system that stays with the recipient or can be passed on to other potential customers . We can have a fantastically designed website and a reception desk in the office that will welcome the customer with open arms and yes, such a customer will probably stay with us, but in a month they will pass our business card to a friend kuwait telemarketing data who will only have contact with this piece of paper and not with our entire communication system. If it is designed in an uninteresting way, our potential customer will definitely not use it. When designing a business card, it is worth remembering about the visual identification of the brand , which plays a key role in the perception of our company.
A business card is a symbol of professionalism. Despite the fact that nowadays a website is the most important element of our business, a paper business card still gives a professional touch to our brand, especially if the recipients are older people.
What types of business cards are there?
1. Company business card
Probably the most common type of business card that we can come across in most offices and shops.
What is on it?
Usually, on the front side, we will find the company logo and the contact details for the reception/service (the point responsible for PR and customer contact in the company). On the reverse side, there is usually a brief description of the services or products offered by the company.
2. Personal business card
Also a common type of business card, often worn as a clip or around the employee's neck.
What is on it?
The front side usually has the company logo, while the back side has the employee's details, such as name, surname, position held, contact number, e-mail address and company website address.
3. Occasional business card
A less common type of business card, mainly of a marketing rather than informational nature. Such business cards are most often attached to completed online purchases and are intended to thank the customer for their purchase and make a positive impression so that the customer would like to buy from us again in the future.
What is on it?
On the front, we will find aesthetic thanks, designed in accordance with the brand's key visual, so that the inscription itself will stick in our minds and be associated with the brand. On the back, there is usually a company logo and a website address.
What should a business card look like? What are the common dimensions of business cards?
To allow for practical storage of the business card, it should not be larger than 95mm x 55mm, as a larger format would not fit in a standard wallet and would require a business card holder to store it. The most common sizes are 90 x 50 , 85 x 55 and 90 x 55 (mm) .
What should a business card include?
First of all, for our business card to be effective, it must:
include contact details such as a contact number, website address and email address;
link to more information about us - website;
contain our logo so that the recipient knows which company it belongs to;
concisely describe what services/products we offer , this can be through a short branding text or bullet points (remember not to overload the business card with content, because then it will become visually unattractive);
be designed in an aesthetic way , consistent with our brand image;
encourage you to contact us or use our services, e.g. via a tagline.
What program should I use to design a business card?
There are many programs in which we can design our business card. Here I will cite 2 examples of programs that are generally available and relatively easy to use. The most commonly used software used by graphic designers to design business cards is Adobe Indesign, although it is paid and quite complicated to use, which is why I have omitted it in this guide. However, if you are interested in the process of creating a business card in this Adobe Indesign - let me know, we will prepare such a guide for you

1. How to design a business card in Canva?
Canva is a free online software that allows you to create graphics in a variety of formats, while remaining in the form of an intuitive and simple configurator.
What is important - in the free version we can only design a business card in the format generally available in the United States (3.5 inches x 2 inches), which gives us dimensions of approximately 89mm x 51mm. Only in the pro version can we independently determine the exact dimensions in which we want to design our business card.
