With live content now accounting for over 80% of online traffic, Meta has been testing new ways to improve live broadcasts for some time. What is the Live Producer Tool?
The Live Producer Tool is the ability to broadcast live online with streaming software such as OBS, Streamyard, and Stremalabs via laptop or computer. Previously, this was only possible with the mobile app. As of August 2022, the Live Producer Tool is still in the testing phase , Meta told the TechCrunch website .

A spokesperson for the BigTech company said: “We are always working to improve Instagram Live and make it a place to share experiences.” The test is currently being conducted with a small group of partners, they added. This new feature expands the possibilities for creators with additional screens, microphones and cameras.

Since the Live Producer tool is still in the testing phase, some features are not yet fully developed. For this reason, comments can only be displayed and responded to within the tool itself. At the moment, the following features are not yet supported by Live Producer: live rooms, shopping, fundraising , comment pinning, and the ability to ask questions and answers. As the company announces, moderation is also not yet included.

Live Producer Tool Technical Requirements and Setting Up Your Next Live Stream
