This step can allow you to invest less energy into researching relevant topics and reputable media outlets that may mention or backlink you.

Track online mentions of any words or phrases related to your rival's brand name, product name, product category, tagline, or anything else.

You can investigate all of this with the Brand Monitoring tool .

The report can help you:

Find mentions on the web, forums, Twitter or Instagram.

Estimate the reach of each mention and determine the platform with the greatest coverage.

Highlight the reputation of the person mentioning (Authority Score) and web traffic (Traffic: Low/Medium/High in the tool).

If you are interested in traffic generated by referral sources, head over to Traffic Analysis for further investigation.

This is because they are only available when you connect your Google Analytics or Search Console accounts to the tool.
