Terminator – Geneuneu

Post by roseline371274 »

With a cautious gesture, the faithful servant passes the pistol to his boss, trying to hide his dismay. For almost hours, his employer has been sitting in the darkest corner of his living room, sunk into a comfortable armchair, smoking a cigar fax lists more quickly than he should. His master slips the weapon close to him with a sharp gesture before taking a sip of brandy.

“  Boss,” Diego tries. “Do you need anything else?
” “Yes, close all the shutters. Oh, and unplug my phone. Then bury it.
” “I sense you’re nervous.
” “Come on, Diego, what makes you say that?
” “You usually make me bury students. Not phones. ”

I open my mouth to offer a witty retort about the similarities between the two in terms of the abusive use of text language, before stopping short. Diego can know. My dear readership has the right to do so, too, because what follows is a true story.

“  Diego, do you remember what happened three days ago?”
“Hmm… you announced on Twitter that you were going to be handling Terminator Genisys?”
“Yes. And do you know what happened exactly ten minutes later?
” “No?
” “My PC died.
” “That’s unusual, boss.
” “Yes. So I—and the story is still true—took out my old laptop to order a new one. And do you know what happened?
” “I… no… you’re not going to…
” “Yes. It died on me too. Two PCs in twenty minutes.” I thought it was a coincidence at first. But tonight, I come back from watching Terminator and I announce it on Twitter. And do you know what happens?
” “Your new machine also dies?” Diego asks in an uncertain voice.
“No, Diego… ”

The servant trembles as I keep the suspense going.

"  ...the website has suddenly become...INACCESSIBLE.
" "Boss," Diego hiccups, "could you stop telling this story with a flashlight under your chin?
" "Yes, but it loses a lot of dramatic intensity without it."

I casually throw the lamp, which rolls to the feet of the poor Spanish speaker, and get up to go to the window to contemplate the sleeping city.

"  This story is true, Diego, I insist. I myself find the coincidence disturbing. It can only mean one thing, I think. Skynet is awakening. The machines are revolting. "

A loud swallow behind me lets me know that my words are being listened to attentively.

"  But do you know what's most intriguing, my good man? It's that at this point, I don't know one thing. "
